The manufacturer had announced its return in last february. Although the brand’s official website has not yet announced its presentation at the time of this writing, we now know what the new DeLorean looks like. Did the Alpha5 miss its time travel? Still, contrary to what one might think, it is not a 2-seater sports car, but a 4-seater GT!
A more current style
If we guess the shape of its ancestor, its body is still very different from that of the first DeLorean. Fortunately, we find the butterfly doors that made the reputation of its eldest. And they are huge! Two in number, they provide access to both the front and rear seats. Inside, screens have naturally replaced all the buttons and other technology needed for time travel.

Des approximations…
Technical data sheet level, the information provided by DeLorean are approximate to say the least. The Alpha5 should carry a battery of more than 100 kWh for a range exceeding 500 km. His performances are not yet official either. DeLorean simply mentions a 0 to 100 km/h timed around 3 s and a top speed of 250 km/h. On the other hand, the manufacturer did not forget to refer to the film which made the first DeLoren famous by indicating the 4.35 s necessary to reach 88 mph. Something to smile about.

Meet at Pebble Beach
Alpha5 still has a lot of other information to tell us. If we know that we have to thank Italdesign for its lines, it still remains to be seen who will take care of its assembly. Its price is also still a mystery. Information about him should however still arrive before his presentation in “flesh” scheduled for Pebble Beach in August. The start of its marketing is set for 2024.
