Delta Flight DL90: Emergency Landing in Dublin Due to Medical Emergency

A Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Orlando, Florida, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, was forced to divert to Dublin Airport on Saturday morning due to a medical emergency involving a passenger. Flight DL90, an Airbus A330-900, departed Orlando International Airport at 7:36 p.m. On Friday, February 13th, and had been airborne for approximately seven hours and 28 minutes when the crew made the decision to land in Dublin.

According to Flightradar24 data, the aircraft initiated a standard descent into Dublin Airport. Irish Mirror reporting confirmed that the diversion was prompted by a passenger requiring immediate medical attention upon landing.

After a brief stop at Dublin Airport, the flight resumed its journey to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, departing at 9:34 a.m. Local time. It ultimately arrived in Amsterdam at 12:08 p.m., completing the transatlantic journey with a delay caused by the unscheduled landing. Aviation24.be reported details of the flight’s path and landing times.

The incident occurred as Delta Air Lines, along with American Airlines, faced a high number of flight cancellations over the weekend, though the airline cancellations do not appear to be directly related to the medical emergency on Flight DL90, according to TheTravel.com.
