”It’s the lottery. There are no gold bars at stake, just good surprises,” smiles Jérémie Martinez, head of the idea. He explains his concept: “You can choose the packages you want, the price varies between 5 and 20 euros for packages of less than 10 kg, they are sold by weight beyond 10 kg, at 16 euros per kilo” . The packages are collected from logisticians. Coming from DHL, Amazon or even Otto, their content can offer a range of surprises. Good or bad.
An ecological process, yes but…
In France, in 2022, an anti-waste law came into force. This prohibits the destruction of new items. This is for the benefit of the company Destock Colis. But is this company for the benefit of the ecological cause? The question is valid. The lottery offered by these random purchases leaves one perplexed about the real use that will be made of the products. In addition, the game encourages consumption. A question that remains open.
The fact remains that when it opened, the warehouse had three tonnes of packages. To date, more than half of the items have been sold for the tidy sum of 10,000 euros. An irrefutable success.
