Lawyer Saud Al-Rumman revealed that the statement issued by Al-Hilal Saudi Club, yesterday evening, Sunday, regarding the issue of suspending its player, Muhammad Kanoo, was not strong enough, but rather included paragraphs condemning the club itself.

Al-Hilal officially announced that it had submitted an appeal to the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center against the decisions of the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Saudi Football Association regarding the case of the disputed midfielder Muhammad Kanoo with Al-Nasr.

The Kanno case surfaced last January, after Al Hilal announced the renewal of his contract for the next 3 seasons, after which Al Nasr issued a statement announcing the player’s signature.

Al-Rumman said, in statements to the “Sports Harvest” program: “The statement is less than expected. frankly with the list.

He added: “I expected that Al Hilal would deny the accusation of incitement, but I found him asking the plaintiff that Al Hilal is an instigator, and this is in violation of Article 43, the fifth paragraph, and I mentioned a text that the new club is considered an instigator for him unless proven otherwise, so Al Hilal has to prove that it is not an instigator.” The plaintiff is not an instigator. Al Hilal also clearly and frankly admitted that he signed a second contract with Kno after the victory contract, but it is not possible, according to their statement, that we signed according to the protected period, but the truth is that FIFA, the international regulations and the El Kass court were taking the interpretation and proved that the protected period starts from the time of signing and not from the entry into force of the contract Therefore, when Al Hilal appeals to the Saudi Arbitration Center, they will apply the penal rules of Article Six.”

He continued: “Therefore, from my point of view, Al Hilal’s statement was the opposite of what was expected, and the statement proved to me that Al Hilal will not appeal that the center is not competent. The statement is not as legal as I had expected.”

He stressed: “Al-Hilal has to submit its memorandum attached with the arbitrator’s name, and Al-Nasr submits the name of the other arbitrator, and the two arbitrators choose a weighted one within 7 days, and if the two clubs do not agree on this likely, the president of the chamber will choose it himself, and the duration of pleading and issuing the judgment remains, and the appellant will be given 20 days and then handed over.” The chamber will appeal it, and the chamber will receive a response, and the case may be decided in two to two and a half months if the parties to the conflict are responsive with the chamber.”

While Yaqoub Al-Mutair, a specialist in international sports law, said: “We are in a local dispute and we have to respect the local regulations, and the protected period begins after the contract comes into force, that is, after its entry into force and not just by signing. And the player’s contract was terminated before the beginning of July, and we are still in May, and there are two months left to enter the protected period.”

Al-Hilal had indicated in a statement that the decision to prevent him from registering and suspending Kno has no legal basis for the player not entering the protected period, since it begins after the effective date of the contract, noting that it is in the disputed contract that begins on July 1, 2022 and not before that.

Al-Zaeem concluded by emphasizing his confidence that the Sports Arbitration Center will reverse the “surprising” decision to resolve disputes, noting that the Board of Directors will never fail to preserve the club’s rights.

The competition between Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad for the Saudi League title continues in the final decisive rounds of the competition, where the “Brigade” leads with 61 points, 11 points ahead of the “leader”, the runner-up.
