“We cannot advance our position. What is clear is that if the congressman receives a bonus per week of representation and renounces this assignment, there would be no problem.”

Bazan He indicated that he understands the indignation generated among public opinion by the congressmen’s trip instead of focusing on their obligations in the country and at a time of international condemnation against Russia for the invasion of Ukraine, but pointed out that, according to the parliamentary code of ethics, these types of actions are not punishable in Congress.

The head of Ethics explained that congressmen cannot be forced to reject invitations like the one from the Warm upsince the ideological independence of each parliamentarian is respected.
