Angina and cystitis
The measure only concerns two well-identified diseases: cystitis (or urinary infection) and angina, the bacterial origin of which will have been previously established by a test carried out in a pharmacy.
However, the announcement of this measure does not coincide, as often, with its actual implementation. The latter could take a few more months. However, patients are already crossing the threshold of Clermont pharmacies in search of antibiotics. A quick reminder, therefore: pharmacists are “still waiting for the official texts”, says Nicolas Verdier, pharmacist in Clermont-Ferrand and president in Puy-de-Dôme of the Union of Community Pharmacists’ Unions.
Already possible
Furthermore, it is already possible, in certain cases of urinary infection, to receive antibiotics directly in a pharmacy. To do this, your pharmacy must have signed a cooperation agreement with a multi-professional healthcare center or a territorial professional healthcare community.
This agreement implies that the pharmacy staff undergo training in the management of this disease and in the protocol for dispensing antibiotics set by the High Authority for Health (HAS). Likewise, to treat angina and cystitis.
