Ninirei Hammond is a Tahitian alumnus of Brigham Young University in Hawaii. She found love during this period and settled down. Ninirei and her husband then started a family. Although Hawaii is culturally close to Tahiti, Ninirei felt a bit uprooted and always participated in the University’s cultural events. She makes it a point of honor to transmit the Tahitian culture and more particularly the language to her children, who can now be proud to speak Tahitian, English and French fluently.
