The factors that contribute to this are: good hygiene habits, personal and mental well-being, exercise and of course the genetics that favor some people… but that’s not the main thing. Longevity is largely due to a diet rich in fish, seaweed, vegetables and legumes, making the Japanese healthier.

Therefore, Japanese nutritionists always recommend foods that have medicinal properties and promote longevity. On the other hand, there are foods that are bad for health and do not promote longevity; on the contrary, they reduce life expectancy, which is why nutritionists in Japan ban their consumption. 1 – Hot dogs

The hot dog is prepared with sausage, one of the greatest villains of the modern diet, the consumption of which should be reduced as much as possible. Sausage is a processed meat that’s high in salt and contains saturated fats, which can increase the risk of colon and breast cancer. It also contains nitrite and nitrate, chemical compounds that can also cause some types of cancer.

Japanese nutritionist Michiko Tomioka suggests tofu as a substitute if you want something high in protein and low in salt and preservatives.

2 – Hamburger (‘Fast Food’)

Burgers are high in salt, trans fats, and saturated fats, which can raise levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol in the blood.

The amount of trans fats in them is so great that it can take up to 50 days for our bodies to process them, and it’s the type of fat that does the most associated with heart problems, obesity, cancer and diabetes.

As an alternative, the nutritionist recommends tofu hamburgers, which are super light, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

3 -Sweetened soft drinks

Daily consumption of sugary soft drinks, i.e. one to two cans per day, is already enough to increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, tooth decay, gastritis and even cancer. Also watch out for soft drinks with artificial sweeteners, which can affect your concentration and even trigger migraines.

The nutritionist recommends low-calorie soft drinks like green tea (matcha iced tea), kombucha, and coconut water.

4 – Sweetened breakfast cereals

These industrially produced cereals are high in added sugar and low in fiber, and that excess sugar can lead to blood pressure problems, weight gain, increased inflammation and risk of diabetes. So avoid eating these for breakfast, no matter how convenient and delicious they are.

The nutritionist recommends you consume white cheese, fruit, yogurt and oatmeal.

5 -cream cheese

Although dairy products are a good source of calcium and protein, not all of them offer the best health benefits. Most cottage cheese or cream cheese brands on the market only provide about five grams of protein and are also very high in calories. And just 28 grams of cream cheese can contain 27 milligrams of cholesterol.

It is suggested replacing the ricotta cheese with white cheese, sesame paste, or ricotta paste, or as a last resort, a light ricotta cheese.

6 – sweets

You don’t have to eliminate all sweets from your diet. Dark chocolate, for example, is rich in disease-fighting compounds antioxidants. But many candies with added sugar and full of cornstarch can be bad for your heart and brain.

The nutritionist recommends sweets by chia seed pudding with honey, frozen bananas or sugar-free dark chocolate. But she agrees that a small piece of cake or pie with friends on special occasions is perfectly acceptable. As long as you only do it “occasionally” and don’t overdo it.
