Dr. Amr Othman, director of the Addiction and Abuse Combat Fund, said that an employee of the state’s administrative apparatus who voluntarily applies for treatment for drug addiction gets treatment free of charge, and in complete confidentiality, through the hotline number 16023.

Othman added, during a phone call to the program “In the Evening with Qaswaa”, broadcast on the “cbc” channel, and presented by the media, Qaswaa Al-Khalali, that the employee who is being examined by the committees formed by the Ministry of Health, the Fund and the Forensic Medicine Authority, and it was found that he is directly working under the influence of Narcotic substances will be his inevitable dismissal because he did not seek treatment, pointing to the dismissal of 1,000 employees after it was proven that they used narcotic substances.

He indicated that an opportunity was given for voluntary progression to treatment, and this door is still open, and the employee will receive treatment for free and in complete confidentiality, and administrative procedures are carried out with the employer.

He continued: “We are suffering in the current period from an increase in synthetic drugs because they are problematic due to their association with mental illness in a large way, and therefore they have treatment stages called a dual diagnosis between psychological and addiction, but at the same time there is no drug that does not provide it with treatment and rehabilitation services, and therefore no There is anesthesia without treatment, but it is important for the patient to progress at an early stage to avoid repercussions.”

He pointed out that the stages of addiction treatment start from withdrawal of the drug from the body and take from 10 to 15 days, then the psychological and social rehabilitation stage and it takes from one to 3 months, then the follow-up stage through outpatient clinics.
