Star-rated popular hotels claim to be full, but according to statistics from the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Communications, the average booking rate for the first 9 days of the Spring Festival this year is less than 50%, which is only slightly higher than last year’s Spring Festival by 7%. From 22nd to the third day of junior high school (January 24th), the reservation rate was the highest. Among the top 3 counties and cities, Miaoli, Tainan, and Chiayi counties ranked first. Many people in the north went to other counties and cities, and Huadong was also very popular. In Taipei, due to the influx of people returning to the country, there is also a reservation rate of more than 50%.
Zheng Huiwen, deputy marketing manager of the Tourism Group, said, “This year’s 10-day continuous holiday, the average occupancy rate has reached 50.5%. Because of the convenient location and transportation, it has become the first choice for tourists from the north and the south to return home. The first day of junior high school (1 From January 22) to the third day of junior high school (January 24), the average occupancy rate has reached 70%.”
Hoteliers appear optimistic about occupancy rates. However, according to data from the Ministry of Communications, the occupancy rate of many hotels is not as good as expected due to crazy travel abroad, high domestic housing prices during the Spring Festival, and concerns about the epidemic.
