The relationship between the Republican Party, which dominates in Florida, and the Walt Disney Company has so far been largely harmonious. After all, the entertainment giant with its amusement parks is one of the largest employers in the Sunshine State and a tourist magnet. While politicians supported the company with tax breaks and other privileges, the dream factory returned the favor with generous party donations. According to that «Orlando Sentinel» Disney reportedly transferred at least $2.2 million to Florida political candidates and committees since the start of 2021. Around 80 percent of this money went to Republicans and conservative circles.
