President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol has decided to dispatch a delegation to Washington next month for the Korea-U.S. Policy Consultation.

The four-term People’s Power Rep. Park Jin will take the lead, and it is decided that the delegation will consist of about 5 experts in the United States during the next week.

The United States is the first for President-elect Yoon to send a delegation to another country, and the message of strengthening the ROK-U.S. alliance as well as measures to deal with the security crisis heightened by North Korea’s ICBM launch are expected to be intensively discussed.

“We plan to meet with key figures such as the US administration and Congress to discuss economic and security issues broadly,” said Yoon’s representative.

The outline of the new government’s organizational restructuring, including the abolition of the Ministry of Leisure, is also expected to be revealed soon.

The transition committee predicted that a rough draft would be available around the beginning of April once the government tasks are put together.
