An international academic journal published by the Korean Diabetes Association vomited the spirit of doubling the impact factor (IF) in three years.

The Korean Diabetes Association announced on the 30th that the 2022 IF of the Diabetes & Metabolism Journal (DMJ) was 5.9.

This is the result of the Web of Science-listed journal citation report (JCR) operated by Clarivate Analytics, and has risen from 37th out of 146 journals in the field of SCI-Endocrinology and Metabolism to 30th out of 145 journals this year.

Even in a situation where most of the 2022 Impact Factors of many prestigious endocrine/metabolic journals are decreasing, the DMJ Impact Factor has risen and ranked in the top 20% of endocrine journals, solidifying its position as a Q1 journal.

DMJ started with an IF index of 3.263 in 2018 after being listed on the SCI in 2017, and now the IF has increased by about two times. .

In 1972, the DMJ first published the official academic journal (Korean version) ‘The Journal of Korean Diabetes Association’. In 2008, the name of the journal was changed to ‘Korean Diabetes Journal’, and from 2010, it was converted to an English journal for registration in SCIE.

Since then, in 2011, with the publication of the 35th issue, it was newly founded as DMJ (Diabetes & Metabolism Journal) and has been published 6 times every other month until now. It is listed on MEDLINE and has 93 editorial board members from 21 countries.

The society plans to establish the status of DMJ as an international academic journal with pride as an academic journal representing Asia, and to continue to play a leading role by quickly introducing recent issues and research results to domestic and foreign researchers.
