Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 Announced for Switch 2, Switch, and PC

Idea Factory International, Compile Heart, and Sting have announced the board game sequel Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, scheduled for a simultaneous worldwide release in Summer 2027 with extensive language support.

The friendship-destroying board game franchise is officially expanding with a direct sequel to 2023’s Dokapon Kingdom: Connect. The newly unveiled title, DOKAPON KINGDOM: CONNECT 2, merges traditional role-playing progression with competitive tabletop mechanics supporting up to four players in both local couch co-op and online sessions, while also offering solo play.

Worldwide Summer 2027 Launch Across Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, and Steam

Publishers and developers are targeting a simultaneous global rollout in Summer 2027. The game will support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Thai text, alongside English and Japanese voiceover options. Platform availability spans Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam.

While digital releases are confirmed for all listed platforms, physical edition details remain under wraps. Further announcements regarding both physical and digital formats will arrive at a later date.

As a follow-up to the previous multiplayer release, the upcoming software blends tabletop party elements and role-playing adventures. Players flick a spinner on board game-style maps to determine their movement. Depending on where they land, different squares trigger unique events, forcing participants to stop by shops, visit villages, and handle whatever surprises await them.

Turns involve choosing a single command. Although the mechanics remain straightforward and easy to pick up, the gameplay relies heavily on mind games and psychological tactics. Participants must anticipate rival choices and select actions that grant them the upper hand while avoiding risky territory.

Character Customization, Job Classes, and New Gameplay Modes

Players navigate board game maps, battle monsters, save towns, and seize wealth, but winning requires more than just gathering coin. Sabotaging opponents by stealing items and cash remains central to the experience, with the ultimate victor determined by whoever holds the most wealth at the end of the competition. The sequel introduces deeper character customization, allowing users to adjust hairstyles, eyes, mouths, or craft unusual facial designs and save their custom heroes for future sessions.

Additionally, an all-new mode drops every participant straight into the action at a high level equipped with powerful gear right from the start.

Cooperative Battles and Thailand Game Show 2026 Debut

Departing strictly from pure cutthroat competition, the sequel introduces cooperative battles where every user teams up to face gigantic monsters together. Defeating these powerful foes yields massive reward pools, leaving allies to decide whether to share the spoils fairly or hoard the treasures for themselves.
