The number of domestic tourists has increased in Saudi Arabia. It is reported that the number of natives going abroad has decreased due to new projects in the tourism sector. So far this year, more than 32 million domestic tourists have reached the visiting centers in Saudi Arabia (domestic tourists increased Saudi Arabia).
The Ministry of Tourism revealed that the number of domestic tourists in Saudi Arabia increased by 37 percent last year compared to 2015. 64 million tourists spent 81 billion riyals in the country last year. In 2022, the number of tourists has increased to a great extent. So far more than 32 million domestic tourists have visited the tourist destinations.

Figures indicate that the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia, which was devastated by the Covid crisis, is coming back tenfold. The Ministry of Tourism has planned more than 20 entertainment and historical programs in Riyadh, Jeddah and Alhassa from November to the end of this year. The Ministry is implementing several schemes to promote the domestic tourism sector.
Due to this, the number of natives going to foreign countries has decreased. In 2015, 20.8 million Saudis spent 84 billion riyals abroad. Last year, only 8.4 million natives went abroad. They spent 53 billion riyals in foreign countries.
