If it seems trivial at first glance, it is much less so when you know the identity of one of the two men. The one on Donald Trump’s left is a stranger, but the one on the businessman’s right is none other than Philadelphia mob boss Joey Merlino.
Asked by the Philadalphia Inquirer about Donald Trump and Merlino’s relationship, the Republican’s spokesperson did not reveal whether the two men had a good relationship. “President Trump takes countless photos with people. That doesn’t mean he knows everyone he comes into contact with.” he commented.
The American newspaper reveals that Merlino has already said in the past that he admires Donald Trump but such remarks have never been heard in the opposite direction.
Joey Merlino was convicted in 2001 in a racketeering case and served ten years in prison. When he left, he said he wanted to put this life behind him and worked as a butler in an Italian restaurant.
