Fraudsters and traffickers are once again taking advantage of the situation when the attractive round of 16 match of the Europa League against AC Milan is sold out, and the situation from the autumn of this season is repeating itself, when we recorded an extreme number of overpriced or fake tickets, especially for league matches with Sparta and Pilsen and cup duels against AS Rome and Servette FC. Ticket offers offered at inflated prices or fake tickets like the one you see in the picture are starting to multiply on various servers.
Before sold-out matches, dozens of fans contact the email of the ticketing department and the club’s Facebook messages every day asking whether the ticket offered by a third party for purchase is genuine. Unfortunately, it is not within our power to check every single ticket, and above all, confirmation of authenticity does not solve anything for the fan. There is never any certainty that one ticket will not be sold by a fraudster to another twenty people, of whom only one will pass through the turnstiles. Before the cup derby, we again recorded dozens of cases where fans discovered they had been cheated when the QR code at the turnstile did not work for them, linking to a completely different website, or when they were several times with the same ticket. There was also a case where fans who were deceived in this way bought a replacement ticket at the stadium, but it was also fake.
The club’s active fight against traffickers
Again, we also noticed cases where the permanent ticket holder offered tickets at a multiple higher price than he bought them in the pre-sale in the form of an auction. After establishing the identity of this seller, we proceeded to block the permanent ticket for the rest of the season and withdraw the pre-emptive right to the permanent ticket for next year. We are prepared to repeat this procedure in all cases where we discover that season ticket holders are selling tickets at a higher price than they bought them. In any case, season ticket holders make up only a minority of the total number of resellers, who are mostly not our season ticket holders and offer completely fake tickets.
We also uncovered cases where QR codes from the season ticket were misused. We warn fans not to share the QR code and season ticket number publicly anywhere to avoid similar abuse. If you suspect that there may have been a data leak, have your season ticket blocked and ask for a duplicate to be issued.
