Back in May, Xbox seemed to have been teasing the Psychonauts 3 announcement. Now, however, Double Fine founder Tim Schafer has stated that the game is not in development and instead, the studio is working on other projects. On the Cressup YouTube channel, Schafer dismissed rumors that Double Fine was developing Psychonauts 3, instead stating that the studio is working on other projects. “I’m not working on Psychonauts 3,” Schafer said bluntly. “We’re in the ‘Willy Wonka, behind closed doors’ phase,” he said of the studio’s next project. “But soon we might open the door and do a lot of damage to a lot of kids, like Willy Wonka. It seems like there might be multiple irons in the fire, as Schafer did mention some ‘smaller’ games, not Big projects like Psychonauts 3.
