Epic Games has announced that the interactive demo The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience will no longer be available on PS5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X starting July 9.
In December 2021, shortly before the theatrical release of Matrix ResurrectionsEpic Games launched The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience on PS5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. This is a technical, interactive and free demo, designed to highlight the qualities of the graphics engine Unreal Engine 5. From July 9, it will no longer be available, the company warned on the official website.

Attention, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is not a way to learn more about the incredible universe that is Matrix. The license is only used here for promotional purposes to give even more desire to discover a very, very impressive technical demo.
The experience is divided into two parts:
- A first sequence of about ten minutes taking the form of a very simplistic shooting game on rails (we do not manage the movements);
- A second part which is similar to a vast playground, where you can walk around freely and play on the parameters influencing the visual rendering.
Quite naturally, the objective of The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is to show off. Stunning modeling, photorealistic textures, breathtaking visual effects… The dithyrambic findings are there and we really advise you to give a few minutes to this project designed in partnership with people who have worked on Matrix Resurrections (including director Lana Wachowski).
