The young driver was on the road in the Provinciebaan in Ledegem in the night from Friday to Saturday. He was driving in the direction of Menen when he suddenly lost control of his wheel around midnight. He deviated from his lane to the left, rammed into two trees and spun. The driver was catapulted from his vehicle and eventually came to rest under his car, which came to rest in a roadside field. The young man was partially under the car up to his pelvis. The emergency services rushed to the scene and were able to lift the car on one side so that they could get the victim out from under the car. The victim was conscious the entire time and was taken to hospital with very serious injuries.
