The taxi driver from an app, who reportedly gave Debanhi a ride in his car before disappearing, assured that he did not harass the young woman and that it was not his behavior that made the girl get out of the vehicle.
In an interview with a local media this Tuesday, Juan David Cuellar, responded to what was said by Mario Escobar, the father of the deceased girl, who alleged that the driver had harassed his daughter inside the car taking advantage of her state.
He added that what the man said has affected him at work and personally, since not only has he not been able to continue his work, but he also has problems with his family due to that situation.
The man on Friday commented on my name and brought me many problems with my family, work and personal, Since that incident happened I have not worked.
“I never thought I’d be in this situation, I don’t owe anyone anything and I want everyone to know the truth and more than anything, because the man makes a serious accusation, he accuses me of harassment and at no time did I harass her, the man says many things , but he was not there, he does not know the truth,” he said.
He commented that the state authorities searched his house and, being under investigation, he cannot move, since he must be available at any time.
In addition, he assured that the company with which he worked decided to block his account for security reasons.
Cuellar commented that Debanhi’s friends asked for a taxi to pick them up, but in the end only the now deceased got into the car, while the other two girls left in another car with more people.
He pointed out that he received the message asking him to go pick up the young women at around 04:00, after he gave them his phone number to return them after having taken them hours earlier.
Finally, he commented that after leaving Debanhi on the Carretera a Laredo and going home, he decided to return to the Nueva Castilla area to try to help the young woman, but could not locate her.
