A strong joint operation that required the deployment of various units and divisions of The Neuquén Police left as a balance five detainees, drugs, weapons, ammunition, money and hijacked cars. The blow was hard for a well-known band in San Martin and Junin de Los Andes.

In total they were 10 raids in tourist locations that were motivated by an investigation of several months, in which the actions of a group of people who were engaged in illegal activities were pursued. The last antecedent had been a public altercation and for that reason the investigations were focused.

The first wave of raids began on Thursday the 27th, when members of the San Martín de los Andes Radioelectric Command Department managed to locate and arrest one of the main suspects. The ringleader had an arrest warrant against him for a rustling case.

On Friday the 28th, four other search warrants were carried out, two of them in Junín and the rest in San Martín. These new operations allowed the location and seizure of other elements of relevance to the ongoing case.

In total, on both days, it was possible to specify the delay of 5 adults and the seizure of ammunition of different calibers, the replica of a firearm, served pods, cannabis sativa and cocaine.

Precision scales used for dividing drugs were also seized, a sum of more than 600 thousand Argentine pesos, 1,100 dollars and more than 200 thousand Chilean pesos. As a contribution to the investigation, cell phones, clothing, three vehicles on which the corresponding searches were later carried out, and other objects were retained.

The procedures coordinated the work of four police stations (including Women’s) and multiple divisions, departments and detachments, mobilizing personnel from across the region.
