The Organizing Committee of the Dubai Fishing Championship (Kanad and Scull), organized by the Dubai International Marine Club, announced the crowning of Jassim Al Marzouqi as the season’s champion in kingfish hunting, after he was keen to participate in the first and second rounds of the Dubai Championship, where the total weight of his fish reached 48.5 kg. To surpass Ali Al Hosani, who finished second, by less than one kilogram.
The champion of the kingfishing season won the valuable financial prize set by the Delma Marine Company for Industrial Equipment and Marine Services, which totaled 25 thousand dirhams. He received it at the closing ceremony last Monday, in the presence of the General Manager of Delma Marine Company, Ayoub Al Khaja. And the director of the sports affairs department at the club, Mohamed Saif Al-Marri.
In a press statement, Al-Marzouqi praised the great role played by the Dubai Maritime Club in developing the competition and increasing interest in it, which enhances the turnout and participation of various segments of society in reviving the great popular heritage.
