Dubai: UAE tightens anti-drug measures Dubai Police seized 491 kg of drugs and 33 lakh drug pills from various places in three months. Many people including Indians were arrested.
Seizures include cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, opium, marijuana and hashish. Dubai police also wanted to arrest regarding 50 percent of the accused in drug-related cases.
560 social media accounts found to be promoting drug use were banned. In the second quarter of the current year, the important information related to drug trafficking has been shared with countries like India, Australia, UK, Saudi Arabia, China, Philippines, Kuwait, Germany and Pakistan, according to Dubai Police. This led to the arrest of 28 suspects at the international level. Through this, 431 kg of drugs were seized.
Dubai Police Commander in Chief Lt. Gen. Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri said that the Anti-Narcotics Department plays a crucial role in protecting the people of the country from drugs and taking action once morest drug distribution links. Dubai Police is also continuing its awareness programs once morest drugs.
