(Quebec) The Parti Québécois (PQ) wants to change its tone around Minister Christian Dubé’s debate on health reform.
We are now indicating that we want to collaborate with the government during the parliamentary committee that will study the bill in order to improve it.
It is also said that no more questions will be asked on the subject at the Blue Room.
Friday morning at a press briefing, PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon said he did not like the content of the exchanges during Thursday’s question period.
In the House, the parliamentary leader of Québec solidaire, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, said that the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) was carrying out the “ wet dream by Gaétan Barrette with his health reform.
Without specifically targeting the words of Mr. Nadeau-Dubois, the leader of the PQ indicated that he did not want to relive “regrettable moments” in the Blue Room.
After the tabling of the bill on Wednesday, PQ MP Joël Arseneau had made very harsh remarks about the bill. He had notably called him “Orwellian” by adding that he was going to complete the reform of the former Liberal Minister of Health, Gaétan Barrette.
Despite everything, the PQ leader ensures that his party will continue to ask questions on subjects such as waiting times in emergencies, accessibility to care and delays in surgeries.
