Due to new streets in Riga, the names of a number of public transport stops are being changed

The stop “Maskavas Street 450” of bus routes 15, 18 and 31 has been renamed “Latgales Street 450” (Latgales iela 450) in both directions.

The stop of trolleybus routes 4, 19 and 20 “Maskavas Street” in the direction from the center has been renamed to the stop “Lastādijas iela”.

The stop for trolleybuses No. 15 and buses No. 18 “Lomonosova Street” in the direction from the center has been renamed to the stop “Lauvas Street” (Lauvas iela).

The “Lermontov Street” stop of trolleybus No. 5, as well as bus routes 4, 21, 38, 39, 46, 56 and 63, has been renamed “Vilis Pludonis Street” (Viļa Plūdoņa iela) in both directions.

The stop of the 4th, 15th, 19th, 20th trolleybuses and the 18th bus “Gogol Street” in the direction of the center has been renamed to the stop “Emilia Benjamini Street” (Emīlijas Benjamiņas iela).

The stop of the 4th, 15th, 19th and 20th trolleybus routes, as well as the 18th bus route “Dzirnavu Street” in the direction from the center has been renamed the stop “Emīlijas Benjamiņas iela”.

The stop of trolleybus route 13 “Turgeneva Street” in the direction of Timoteya Street has been renamed to the stop “Vilhelma Purvīša iela”. The stop is currently closed and trolleybus route 13 is running on a bypass road due to construction work in the area.

The stop of trolleybus route 13 “Dzirnavu Street” in the direction of Dzirnavu Street has been renamed to the stop “Vilhelma Purvīša iela”. This stop is also currently closed, and trolleybus route 13 runs on a bypass road due to construction work in the area.

The stop of tram route 7 “Central Market” (Centrāltirgus) towards the center and the stop “Udica Maskavas” towards the center have been renamed to the stop “Spīķeri”.

The stop on tram route 7 “Turgeneva Street” has been renamed to the stop “Jēzusbaznīcas iela” in both directions.

The stop of tram route 7 “Balvu Street” in the direction from the center and the stop “Aiviekstes Street” in the direction to the center have been renamed to the “Latgales parks” stop.

The stop on tram route 7 “Lubanas Street” has been renamed to the stop “Udica Reznas” (Rēznas iela) in both directions.

And the stop on tram route 7 “Pragas Street” towards the center has been renamed to the “Bus Station” stop (Autoosta).

Changes to stop names are proposed so that stop names are the same in both directions of travel and provide passengers with more accurate information about the location of the stop and facilities located in the immediate vicinity.

Earlier it was reported that on February 21, the Riga City Council decided to rename Maskavas Street and a number of other streets in the capital. New street names in Riga have already come into force – Latgales, Lastadijas, Janja Klidzeja, Karl Milenbach, Vilhelm Purvisa, Vilija Pludonya, Emilias Benyaminas, Valerijas Seiles and Augusta Sparinas.
