Dynamo Communications Director Dmitry Simonov apologized for the statements of forward Fyodor Smolov and the club’s sports director Zeljko Buvac to journalists.
Previously Smolov sharply answered the reporter’s question after the departure of the blue and white from the FONBET Cup of Russia from Akron (0:0, 1-4). Buvac called another journalist stupid in response to a question about the future of Muscovites coach Slavisa Jokanovic.
– On behalf of FC Dynamo, I would like to apologize for the inaccurate words that were uttered by our employees and players today in the mixed zone. I think you all understand that football is a huge emotion. We were all disappointed today. We are very worried about the result. You know, we fought for the trophy, but, unfortunately, it so happened that we failed to go further. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to control emotions. We failed to do so today.
I am ready once again and personally to apologize to those journalists whose feelings may have been touched.
I think you know very well that our club is as open as possible to the media. You see it in work, in interaction with all of you. Yes, such cases happen, they do not paint us. But I can tell you that every Dynamo player and employee has great respect for the work of journalists and bloggers. We didn’t mean to offend you. I hope you accept this apology, but we will work to ensure that this does not happen again.
