This will happen after April 30 – when the contract with the Canadian ends.

Acting General Director of Dynamo Minsk Artem Karkotsky commented on the departure of Craig Woodcroft from the post of head coach of the team.

“I didn’t get to work with Craig Woodcroft that long, but that was enough time to see his professionalism. With his help, Dynamo managed to make the club vertical really work: the best graduates of the Dynamo school got a chance to play in the main team of the country under him – Kolyachonok, Kolosov, Zvyagin, Pyshkaylo and others.

I am grateful to Woodcroft for the years spent at Dynamo, but we have decided that it is time to start a new stage, – Dynamo press service quotes Karkotsky.

So far, there is no clarity with a new candidacy for the post of head coach. They call many different names. One of those who are being matched at Dynamo is a Russian Dmitry Kvartalnov. He has been unemployed for almost a year now. His last job was“Ak Bars” (Kazan).

According to some media reports, an agreement has already been reached between the Dynamo club and the Russian specialist.

If this is actually the case, then Kvartalnov will become the 12th head coach of the Zubrs in the KHL era.

Hockey observer “SE” Mihail Zislis commented on the departure of the Canadian specialist Craig Woodcroft from Dynamo Minsk, and also evaluated the candidacy of the Russian coach Dmitry Kvartalnov to the post of mentor of the “bison”.

“Congratulations to all those who are tired of Craig Woodcroft, and who, like manna from heaven, were waiting for his departure, – belarushockey.com quotes him as saying. — Apparently, there are a lot of such people in Minsk and its environs. Everyone is tired of him. He could no longer give anything new to the team.

Dmitry Kvartalnov is better than Woodcroft, if only because he asks all players the same. Regime change has been long overdue. In the first year of operation, I will assume that everyone in Minsk will be satisfied. At first, Kvartalnov’s methods look fresh and effective. Even in the load he should be given the national team. But I’m not that interested.”
