Al-Marsad newspaper: A recent medical study revealed the dangers of consuming refined grains such as bread and white rice, noting that this dietary behavior is linked to a higher risk of coronary artery disease.
The study showed that eating refined grains is similar to adopting a diet rich in sugars and oils.
According to the study, eating whole grains, such as whole-grain bread, whole oats or quinoa, was associated with a lower risk of early coronary artery disease.
The study indicated that grains lose important nutrients when they are milled into flour, in order to prolong their shelf life, according to the agency “UBI”.
