Eckental (Bavaria) – A 59-year-old was injured in an explosion in the interior of his vehicle in Bavaria on Friday.
Before the deflagration in Eckental (Middle Franconia), the man had cleaned the inside of the car with an air pressure spray, the police said. Because it was so cold, the car lover had closed the windows and doors.
He then made a serious mistake: following work was done, he lit a cigarette in the car. The explosion was caused by the aerosols in the vehicle.
According to the police, the pressure wave was so violent that the windshield was thrown almost 20 meters away. All four doors were deformed. The man was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. (rgz, dpa)
