- Tampering with electrical services or tampering with the meter is punishable by a fine of up to 5,000 Saudi riyals.
- Tampering with the electrical service meter or its accessories with a breaker with a capacity of between 200 and 400 amps is punishable by a fine of up to 15 thousand Saudi riyals.
- Tampering with an electrical service meter or its components whose capacity exceeds 400 amps is punishable by a fine of up to 50 thousand Saudi riyals.
2- How to reconcile electricity violations in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Electricity has made it possible to reconcile electricity violations in accordance with some conditions and standards, where reconciliation takes place in the following manner:
- The violations are first proven, and then the person begins to reconcile them by paying the fines or being subject to the prescribed penalties. This happens after the inspector writes a report of the violations that occurred.
- The report shall include the day and date of the report, its number, the date the violation occurred, the type and description of the violation, its causes, the circumstances surrounding it, and the resulting damages, along with a copy of the violation, the editor’s medal, and the violator’s name and signature.
- An arrest report will be sent to the violator, leaving a period of 5 days to respond to what has been attributed to him.
- If the violation is proven to have occurred, reconciliation will be made by repairing the damage incurred and paying the amount of compensation.
