Electronic Arts halts video game sales in Russia and Belarus

Electronic Arts joins the tech companies that are waging a corporate boycott against Russia and Belarus. The video game developer has announced that it is stopping sales of your gamescontents and virtual currencies in the countries related to the russian invasion in ukraine.

the publisher of ‘FIFA’ has also removed the selection of Russia and all the Russian clubs from his popular video game FIFA 22.

“Our games and content will no longer be available for purchase in our Russian region store on Origin or in the EA app, including through in-game stores”the company said in a statement on Friday.

Boycott against Russia

This way, Electronic Arts is joining companies, mostly American, in breaking business ties with Russia. Companies like Apple, Microsoft, MetaNike, Dell and more are applying and following the sanctions imposed by the US and the EU on Russia after the invasion of Ukraine.
