Tool, which is in Public Preview model, prepares systems for possible failures, improving resilience and avoiding irreparable damage

São Paulo, June 21, 2023 – Microsoft has just released a preview of Azure Chaos Studio, a service to improve the resilience of applications and infrastructures through simulations and failure tests in a controlled environment, in the Azure Brazil South Region, region of the company’s cloud located in Brazil. Offering the service is part of the company’s investments in offering state-of-the-art solutions to Brazilian customers and, mainly, to the developer community, with availability in local regions.

The tool allows the IT area to carry out fully managed chaos engineering experiments, accelerating the discovery of possible system or application failures, preparing it for the most different adversities, whether caused by cyberattacks or unavailability.

Interested companies can now access a preview version of Azure Chaos Studio and validate applications that respond effectively to outages and failures, including on physical or virtual machines (VMs). With this service, users can introduce a planned chaos experiment, testing the ability of their applications and systems to handle failures and outages. Azure Chaos Studio helps you identify and fix vulnerabilities in your systems, ensuring greater reliability and availability.

The solution works in the cloud, in data centers, or in hybrid environments and, in addition to simulating outages, helps create a high demand for customer traffic on a site, allowing the company to intentionally stop operations to identify gaps and plan mitigations beforehand. that consumers are affected by a problem and stop buying, for example.

“With the availability of the service in Brazil, companies can enjoy the benefits of chaos testing without the need to transfer sensitive data out of the country. In addition, local support and reduced latency ensure a more efficient and agile experience for users”, explains Stéfany Mazon, Azure leader at Microsoft Brazil.
