In a note, following the complaint of a student, victim of sexual harassment by a teacher, the President of EM Gabon University, Professor Daniel Franck Idiata, issued a certain number of instructions, in as a safeguard, in the face of a phenomenon which clearly has a thick skin.
These instructions concern the ban on any student accepting an invitation from a teacher outside the establishment, whatever the reason.
The president of EM Gabon University also recommends systematically denouncing all teachers who invite students to their respective homes, or to any other places, even if it is to correct license reports or end-of-study dissertations. .
To discourage teachers of questionable morality, Franck Daniel Idiata also strongly advises systematically reporting any inappropriate behavior by a teacher in class, on campus and in all other places.
The Ethics and Professional Conduct Commission of EM Gabon is already on alert to sanction unscrupulous teachers and a special service has been created to register complaints from students.
The school also does not rule out contacting the Libreville court of first instance regarding possible cases of sexual harassment that come to its attention.
But Franck Daniel Idiata’s note remains silent on the sanction which was inflicted on the teacher caught in the act.
EM Gabon University is currently the preferred private university of young Gabonese people due to the seriousness of its leaders, its appropriate facilities and the quality of its educational teaching.
