Young talent from the French scene, the landaise EM.MA sings of love and nostalgia. After seducing the Luxey public, she embarked on a tour.
EM.MA, it’s a first name and also a project, that of a young girl, author, composer, performer and actress. She was born 23 years ago on Reunion Island, grew up in Gers and lives in Landes.
She has been making music since childhood and now composes songs in French.
His project is supported by the association “Landes Amplified Music” with the mission of development of contemporary music in the Landes area.
On the “Plateau de Musicalarue”
This is how EM.MA was invited on “Le Plateau de Musicalarue” which is the annual event in May in Luxey, as a preamble to the big festival in August.
A day that honored artists in the process of professionalization spotted in New Aquitaine. This year, 29 music groups and a street arts company performed.
At the end of the afternoon, EM.MA played on the “Bocal” stage, one of four set up on the site of the “Les cigales” performance hall. She presented for 40 minutes a repertoire consisting solely of original compositions in front of a large audience.
She is accompanied by “the boys”, as she calls them: Pierre on bass, Kevin on guitar, Lucas on saxophone and keyboards, Julien on drums. They are from Toulouse and they met there a year. We feel the complicity between them and it’s all in the service of the music, sometimes dynamic, or more calm in a guitar-voice duo with Kevin.
I speak, as in most French songs, of love of course, but also of healing and abandonment. From this process, from shadow to light.
EM.MAat NoA – France 3 Aquitaine
This date in Luxey is the beginning of a tour that this young artist announces to us with enthusiasm: “On May 25, we will play at the Supersonic which is a great Parisian venue for groups such as ours. We also do the Essentiel festival in Vieux-Boucau, on July 1, in the arenas with Bertrand Belin. It is a great pride to be able to play before Bertrand Belin who, for me, is in line with the authors, composers, performers that I love very much in France.”
A new music video will be released in July and a second ep is in preparation.
