ABU DHABI, January 26 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Global Market revived, today, the activities of the International Data Privacy Day, which falls on January 28 of each year.

On this occasion, the Abu Dhabi Global Market hosted an event, in which members of a group of privacy protection experts in the UAE and Gulf countries gathered, a number of advisors from the US Embassy in the UAE, officials from the government sector and a number of prominent personalities concerned with this field from the GCC region. The agenda of the event this year focused on international best practices that enhance confidence in international companies, and on highlighting the role played by global financial centers in publishing guidelines and systems for data protection and privacy.

The discussion sessions explored topics including, “The Role of Financial Free Zone Laws in Building Confidence in International Companies” and “How Companies Can Be Better Prepared for the New Personal Data Protection Law Requirements in the UAE.” The discussion sessions also witnessed the participation of a group of local industry experts. and regionalists.

The event witnessed the participation of national and international data protection authorities and other sectors, which celebrated World Data Privacy Day as an ideal opportunity to raise awareness about the rights to protect privacy and personal data.
