Fatal snowmobile accident – Newsroom

The accident happened around 2 a.m. Thursday night. The driver of a snowmobile was traveling on Chemin du Père Watier in Gaspé. The man in his thirties lost control of it, would have gone straight in a curve to finish his race against a tree. The driver and passenger were ejected.

The driver was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The passenger, also in her thirties, carried out resuscitation maneuvers on the driver while waiting for help to arrive. She was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigator from the SQ went to the scene of the accident to observe the scene. The causes and circumstances of the accident have still not been revealed, nor the identity of the victim. The investigation is continuing.
