Emirates News Agency – Japan’s Nikkei continues to decline for the second consecutive session

TOKYO, August 19 / WAM / The Japanese Nikkei index declined at the close of trading today, continuing its decline for the second consecutive session, as it abandoned its highest level since last January.

The Nikkei index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange closed down by 0.04%, or 11.81 points, to close at 28930.33 points.

While the broader Topix index rose 0.2%, equivalent to 4.02 points, to close at the level of 1994.52 points.

In a related context, the performance of Chinese stock indices declined, with the “ESI” Composite Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in late trading by 11.12 points, or 0.34%, to close at 3,266.21 points.

The Chinese Hang Seng Index fell by 0.38%, equivalent to 66.34 points, to reach the level of 19709.17 points.

The Bombay Synex index fell during trading by 568.01 points, or 0.94%, to reach 59,749.87 points.
