From our correspondent in Bangui, “The fourth edition of the biggest business meeting in the Central African Republic is happening here. During the debates, emphasis is placed on the attractive sectors of the Central African Republic. “I can cite agribusiness which is first of all the most interesting,” says Barry Mohamed, promoter of this fair. “The chicken that we eat here, 90%, is frozen chicken, whereas there is every potential for raising chicken here. Real estate has also become a very profitable business in CAR. Currently a house here is at least around 2,000 – 3,000 euros. You can also take catering. That too is a business that can be profitable. The courier service. Everywhere you turn there is something to do. Because nothing is done yet, it’s blank. » About fifty entrepreneurs hold a stand. On one side, we can see project leaders, entrepreneurs and on the other, investors. Most are Central African entrepreneurs, with the exception of a few foreigners invited for the occasion. This multi-sectoral and multifaceted fair brings together companies, institutions, associations, NGOs, with the participation of pupils and students. “Entrepreneurship is taking control of your destiny,” says Evodie Apora, a Central African who has just embarked on entrepreneurship. “I am here to exhibit my works. I mainly do handmade paintings. Me, I like to create things from nothing and afterwards, I see that some people appreciate it. So, I did that to come and exhibit and sell. The opportunity is therefore offered to project leaders to develop their initiatives. Specialized in agricultural entrepreneurship for 5 years, Simplice Kobalo, a young Central African entrepreneur, highlights the challenges to be met despite the potential of the Central African Republic. “My message to the government is to do everything to make entrepreneurship a priority: give entrepreneurs the means, support for the training of entrepreneurs, for loans and others. Created in 2021, the international fair for job creators now mobilizes more than 600 entrepreneurs. In this country where the State remains the main provider of jobs, developing the entrepreneurial fabric is an important issue for the economy of the Central African Republic.
