Epic Games Store announces 194 million users will continue to send weekly free games strategy this year

Epic Games Store, one of the PC game platform providers, today released its 2021 review, showing the results of last year. According to Epic Games, the Epic Games Store now has more than 194 million PC users, an increase of 34 million from about 160 million in 2020. The highest number of daily active players reached 31.1 million, and the highest number of concurrent online players was 13.2 million.

According to data released by Epic Games, the number of monthly active users (MAU) was the highest in December, with the highest number of monthly active players reaching 62 million in December, 11% higher than the peak of 56 million in 2020. As for players’ spending on purchasing games on the Epic Games Store in 2021, they will grow by 20%, spending $700 million in 2020, and reaching $840 million in 2021.

As for the Epic Games Store last year, it gave away 89 free games worth $2,120. Players claimed more than 765 million free games in total last year, with 76 of those free games breaking their PC concurrent user records, an average of 13 times their all-time record, Epic Games noted.

Epic Games also detailed the store features introduced last year, including shopping carts that can store up to 50 items, Epic achievements, 25 games currently support this achievement system, and improved social panels. As for the Epic Games Store plan to launch self-publishing tools this year, developers and publishers can more efficiently publish games on the platform.

Epic Games also emphasized that in 2022, they will continue to adopt a strategy of sending free games every week, and they also plan to promote the Epic Wallet feature to the world.
