Students from La Plata beat Velez 4-1 in the first match of the two Argentine teams for Group C of the Copa Libertadores. In it Jorge Luis Hirschi Stadium (UNO), Pincha prevailed with so many of Emmanuel More, Agustín Rogel, Gustavo Del Prete and Franco Zapiolawhile Lucas Janson achieved the partial tie. Those led by Ricardo Zielinsky they were forceful and could have won by a greater difference.
The local began winning from the locker room with the goal of Emmanuel More after 5 minutes, after a corner kick in which the defender won with a header and put León ahead.
Vélez did not stay and approached the rival field in a match marked by the intensity of a cup clash and with the added value of two teams from the same country. It was so that after 35 minutes equality came with a center that headed Lucas Janson Y Mariano Andujar he took the ball from inside the goal.
The match had a frenetic pace and at the end of the first half Pincha took the lead again. With 20 minutes to go, both teams felt tired, although they continued with the intention of looking for the opposite area. Estudiantes fell back a bit and began to attack, while Vélez couldn’t find a way to break the iron punctured defense.
In the end, the fourth came for Pincha due to a good move by Franco Zapiolawhich opened to the left to Pluscame the pass for Mauro Boselli and after a hitch in the area he assisted Zapiola who burst in to decorate the win on the night of La Plata.
For Group C made up of Estudiantes and Vélez, on Wednesday Bragantino beat Nacional de Montevideo 2-0 in Brazil.
Estudiantes was left with 3 points as well as Bragantino, but is the leader by two goals plus favor. Next Wednesday it will be tested with Nacional in Montevideo. For the League Cup, this Sunday it will be local against Central Córdoba and will seek to defend the top of Zone 2.
While Vélez will have little rest since on Saturday he will receive Boca for the domestic tournament in which he will seek to recover. For the Libertadores, in a week he will receive Bragantino.
