GeForce RTX 3090 Kingpin
Nvidia will strengthen its high-end offer through a new showcase GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. Custom models will be launched like the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin.
This “in-house” solution from EVGA will position itself as an “extreme” model at the origin of many superlatives. According to some, this graphics card will be equipped with two 12-pin power connectors (Nvidia). The information was posted on the forum of QuasarZone. It should be taken with a grain of salt but its author explains that it is a choice to simplify the connections. For example the current GeForce RTX 3090 Kingpin uses three 8 pin PCIe connectors. This new approach would make it possible to have only two 12-pin connectors.
GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin
The price of this future GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin would also be higher than that of its predecessor. Clearly, a recommended rate of around $ 2,500 is possible. Finally, it is reported that EVGA will cease production of the RTX 3090 Kingpin once the “Ti” edition is launched. This should take place towards the end of Q1 2022. Note that Nvidia introduced this 12-pin power connector during the launch of the GeForce RTX 30 series Founders Edition in 2020.
This connector is theoretically capable of delivering up to 600W of power. This EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin would thus have at its disposal 2 x 600 + 75 (PCIe connector of the motherboard) or 1275W.
