Between watchmaking and aviation, history has often been written in capital letters. Many brands have associated their destiny, or at least that of one of their icons, with the pioneers of the air. We know, for example, the Santos de Cartier, designed for Alberto Santos-Dumont, a precursor of Brazilian aviation, whose prowess dates back to the very beginning of the 20th century. Or the Breitling Navitimer, created at the request of the American Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).
In the 20th century, Breguet placed itself at the service of air navigation, just as it was involved in maritime navigation in the 19th century. In 1910, it counted among its clients a certain Alberto Santos-Dumont, but also, during the First World War, American soldiers stationed in France, and even Japanese pilots. Being able to keep your time markers in the air is a vital necessity, just like measuring your flight time, monitoring your fuel consumption or even carrying out location tracking.
