Explosion in Opole Province. Two people died

Two people died as a result of the explosion of a heat pump in a building on Olimpijczyk Street in Chrząstowice in the Opole region. We received a report of this incident on the RMF FM Hotline.

The incident took place today at approximately 3 p.m. on Olimpijczyk Street in Chrząstowice (Opole district, Chrząstowice commune).

According to the officer on duty at the Opole Fire Department, a heat pump exploded at a single-family house during service work being carried out there.

Five people were injured. Two could not be saved – they died on the spot. One of the injured people was taken to a hospital in Opole.

Seven fire brigades, police and rescue services were working on the scene. An emergency medical service helicopter also landed there.

The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident. As the RMF FM reporter learned – the situation is now under control, there was no fire. The firefighters have completed their operations.
