Ezviz took advantage of the IFA to lift the veil on a new high-end robot vacuum cleaner, but the video surveillance specialist of course also showed cameras there. Among these, the EB5 promises to operate without connection or regular charging since it integrates not only a battery, but also a solar panel. Technology is not new to Ezviz. The manufacturer already offered solar panels in addition to its battery-powered cameras to avoid having to recharge them, but it is then one more element to fix. By integrating it directly into the device, the EB5 makes installation even easier, which is reminiscent of the eufyCam 3 S330.
For maximum exposure, the new Ezviz camera logically integrates its solar panel on top and presents rather singular lines in the manufacturer’s catalog, generally fond of curves. The EB5 clearly holds more ground, especially since its solar panel is quite large, more than that of the Eufy model. The energy produced by it does not directly power the camera, but its battery. With a capacity of 10,400 mAh, this is rather generous, to last through the days and even – we obviously wouldn’t wish this on anyone – the months of bad weather.
The other equipment of the EB5 is a little more common, but still includes an 8 megapixel sensor which allows it to film up to 4K. For the night, Ezviz has provided infrared vision as well as projectors with color vision. The spotlights will also be able to deter intruders. To detect movements, the camera relies on an infrared sensor (PIR) while artificial intelligence allows it to distinguish humans. Each detection will obviously result in a recording, which can be stored on a microSD card or on the Ezviz cloud. The camera feed can of course also be viewed live, with the possibility of dialog using an on-board microphone and speaker.
The Ezviz EB5 currently has no price or release date, but we will obviously update this article as soon as we know more.
