F1: Ross Brawn “Hamilton has sacrificed the race to solve the problem”[F1-Gate .com]

F1 Managing Director Ross Brawn says seven-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton isn’t thinking about retiring from F1.

Lewis Hamilton’s speculation about the future has spread as he remains silent during the winter after losing his eighth title on the final lap of the 2021 final round of the Abdub GP. However, in the meantime, he seemed to be motivated to rewrite the history of F1 and returned to the battle in the 2022 season.

However, the poor performance of the first six rounds of the Mercedes W13 was out of the title conversation. Lewis Hamilton is currently in 8th place in the drivers ranking.

These opening rounds also revealed considerable frustration to Lewis Hamilton. Recently, there was disagreement between drivers and teams on strategic decisions at the Miami Grand Prix.

This will once again start speculation about Lewis Hamilton’s future, and some believe that he will leave F1 after the end of the season and even before the end of the season.
However, Ross Brawn believes that Harris Milton continues to focus on winning the eighth title over Michael Schumacher.

“Among all the glitz and charm, there are still very determined racing drivers,” Ross Brawn told Evening Standard.

“He still has the best stamina and abilities. I’m sure he wants to win the eighth championship. If not this year, maybe next year.”

“I’m not sure if the Mercedes problem can be fixed with the current car concept, or if the concept needs to be reviewed, but I’m sure they’ll sort it out. Yes … but what they are dealing with is obviously very fragile. “

Lewis Hamilton also lags behind his new teammate George Russell in the standings, although the safety car cost a lot in three of the five opening races.

At the Emilia Romagna GP, George Russell was clearly a better driver, with Hamilton stuck in the “DRS Train” and unable to score points while finishing in 4th place.

However, Ross Brawn understands that Lewis Hamilton has collected data on the Mercedes W13 and sacrificed his own race to find a solution to those problems.

“In these first few races he was looking for a solution. He tried different setups of the car to reach the solution,” said Ross Brawn.

“Perhaps he was sacrificing the race trying to get the information and data the team could use to solve the problem.”

“That’s the feedback I got from the team, but George is on a more general path … and Lewis is about to set out to solve the problem.”

“That’s why I don’t think people who say George outqualified and outraced him in the last few races can see the big picture.”
