Two hundred farmers, of the 43 thousand registered by the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries office of the municipality of Matala, Huíla province, will receive, this month, financing of up to 15 million kwanzas, each, from the Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA ).
Each farmer associated with cooperatives, with up to two and a half hectares, will receive five million and 500 thousand kwanzas and those with five will receive 15 million kwanzas.
Speaking to ANGOP about the financing, the municipal director of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Bernardo Chicomo, stated that the process started in October 2023, lasted one month and extended for four years, just waiting for the allocation of funds .
According to the technician, at this point the process of signing credit grant contracts is taking place, which will be made available later, with a grace period of one year.
He stressed that if there are anomalies in the reimbursement, the beneficiary could be held civilly and criminally liable, which is why he advised fairness and transparency in the reception and application of the money in question.
For the current agricultural campaign, more than 173 thousand hectares were plowed, with harvests of more than 100 thousand different food products expected.
