Reporter reported fields Today, Thursday, the Lebanese Constitutional Council annulled the representation of Rami Feng and Firas Al-Salloum, and announced the victory of Faisal Karami for the Sunni seat in Tripoli, and Haider Asif Nasser for the upper seat in Tripoli as well.
The Constitutional Council revoked Feng’s representation (from the “Rise Up for Sovereignty from Justice” list in the second North District) in favor of the head of the “Dignity Movement” Faisal Karami (from the Popular Will list), so that Haider Nasser won the upper seat in the “Rise Up for Sovereignty and Justice” list. Representative for the upper seat, Firas al-Salloum, from the “Real Change” list headed by Representative Ihab Matar.
Karami’s attorney, Wadih Akl, had earlier filed an appeal before the Constitutional Council, and said: “In the event that the Constitutional Council holds a session to decide on the appeal, less than fifty votes, if counted, are sufficient to declare Faisal Karami’s victory.”
Karami had announced earlier that he would go to the Constitutional Council to “submit an appeal against the results of the parliamentary elections,” and said: “When I invoke the law and the constitutional right, this comes in the context of my respect for constitutional institutions and my faith in the Lebanese judiciary.”
Karami held a press conference at his home in Tripoli, in which he explained the reasons that prompted him to file an appeal.to target him personally He was exposed to the “Popular Will” list.
