The CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent announces the launch of its fall vaccination campaign against respiratory viruses.
Once again this year, appointments can be made via the Clic Santé website or by telephone by calling 1 866 445-0601, from Monday to Friday. Vaccination clinics will be held at our eight main sites as well as a few secondary sites (see attached table).
The new flu and COVID vaccines are free and strongly recommended for people in the following high-risk groups: people around babies under six months; people residing in residential and long-term care centers or in private seniors’ residences or living in other collective environments with a high proportion of elderly and vulnerable people; people aged 60 and over; people who are immunocompromised, on dialysis or living with a chronic illness; pregnant women; health care workers; and adults living in remote or isolated areas.
For COVID-19, this booster dose is particularly important for people in the above groups who have never had the disease and for whom the protection conferred by their previous vaccination is less robust.
Finally, note that as of this week, rapid COVID screening tests are available directly from reception staff at several facilities, such as vaccination and screening centers and local service points. These tests will be given free of charge, without any restriction as to quantity or eligibility criteria.
