Controversy around the 30,000 francs for the parent who stays at home
To respond to the lack of crèche places, the Geneva SVP is launching an initiative: an annual sum for the parent who looks after their offspring. Good idea, or way to send moms home?
As elsewhere in French-speaking Switzerland, places in nurseries and nurseries are rare in the canton of Geneva, leaving many young parents on the floor. Vincent Schaller, municipal councilor of Geneva, member of the steering committee of the UDC, is one of the promoters of the initiative “Yes to the free choice of parents”, launched at the end of September.
